SEVERAL DEAD FOLLOWING SCHOOL BUS CRASH IN CHATTANOOGA

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —

Chattanooga Police have confirmed that there are several people dead following a School Bus crash on Talley Road. NewChannel 9 says that according to the District Attorney’s office, at least five children were found dead on the bus with another passing away at a local hospital.

Crews are on the scene of a crash involving a school bus and a home. The initial call came in just before 3:30 p.m. Monday. Hamilton County Emergency Services and Chattanooga Police are on the scene at 313 Talley Road. A representative with Woodmore Elementary has confirmed that bus 366 was carrying students from the school and was involved in the crash. Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher tells NewsChannel 9 that there were roughly 35 children on the bus at the time of the crash. Fletcher tells NewsChannel 9 that 23 patients have been transported to local area hospitals and the bus driver is cooperating with police. Neighbors say the woman that lives inside the house appeared to be okay and was outside the home speaking with 911.
