SEVERAL PUT APPLICATIONS IN FOR CROSSVILLE POLICE CHIEF POSITION

Crossville City Manager Greg Wood has several applications so far for the position of police chief. The spot became available after former chief David Beaty was dismissed earlier this month. Chris Kendrick is presently serving as interim chief. Wood told 105.7 News today that he has seven applications so far and will continue to accept resumes until September 14. The seven interested include:

JESSIE BROOKS from Kingston – Tennessee Highway Patrol Captain, served with the THP from 1981 to present day

JONATHAN WILLIS from Riceville – Former Athens, Tennessee Police Department chief detective and former special agent with the bomb and arson squad

JON MARK FEHLMAN from Murfreesboro – served with the Santa Rosa, California Police Department from 1996 to 2008, Bainbridge Island Police Chief from 2008 to 2012

DANIEL R. WRIGHT from Harriman – former TBI agent and Rockwood police chief from 2013 to 2017

RODNEY SHOAP of Crossville – former Crossville police chief

RICHARD HOLT of Crossville – formerly of the Cookeville Police Department

MARK STEINMAN – served with the Harriman and Crossville Police Departments as well as the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department. Total of 24 years law enforcement and 28 years fire department experience.

After the September 14 deadline, background checks will be performed and Wood hopes to have a new chief hired by the first or second week in October.
