Several school systems in our area will close early on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, as severe weather is expected to enter as early as 3 p.m. central.

The National Weather Service says the storm system could bring tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail on the plateau around the time schools would regularly dismiss.

Out of caution and safety, several school systems have decided to dismiss early on April 2.

FENTRESS COUNTY – Closing at 11:30 a.m. Central

OVERTON COUNTY – Closing at 11:30 a.m. Central

PICKETT COUNTY – Closing at 11:30 a.m. Central

PUTNAM COUNTY – Closing at 1 p.m. Central

WARREN COUNTY – Closing at 11:30 a.m. Central

WHITE COUNTY – Closing at 1 p.m. Central
