The first round of the TSSAA High School Football State Playoffs get underway tonight (Friday, November 3, 2017) and 24 teams in the area will be in action. In Class 1A, Midway will be at Cloudland, Jellico will host Oliver Springs and Monterey will travel to South Pittsburg. In Class 2A, Rockwood will host Hampton, South Greene will travel to Meigs County and Bledsoe County will be on the road at Trousdale County. In Class 3A, West Greene will host Kingston, Alcoa will entertain Claiborne, York Institute will host Signal Mountain, Upperman will be at Loudon and Smith County will host Sweetwater. In Class 4A, Anderson County will host Grainger County, Nolensville will be at Livingston Academy and Maplewood will host Stone Memorial. In Class 5A, Oak Ridge will host Soddy Daisy, Rhea County will entertain Knoxville West and Fulton will host Lenoir City. In Class 6A, Bradley Central will host Science Hill, Cleveland will be at Farragut, Maryville will host Bearden and Cookeville will entertain Rossview.
