SEVERE WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK IS FEB. 25- MARCH 3
Tennessee is promoting Severe Weather Awareness Week February 25 through March 3. Tennessee Emergency Management Agency’s (TEMA) director Patrick Sheehan said that, “Severe weather can occur at any time in Tennessee. TEMA wants Tennesseans and our state’s visitors to understand severe weather hazards, and prepare themselves and their loved ones to receive and understand warnings, and get to safety, when severe weather threatens.” According to tn.gov, people need to stay aware of the weather’s potential. Being aware of local weather hazards can keep you and your family safer. It is also recommended to have an emergency kit with food, water, medical kits, and flashlights. Be prepared and be aware!
