SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE IN OUR AREA MARCH 15, 2024

The National Weather Service says there is a chance for severe weather on the Cumberland Plateau early tomorrow morning (Friday, March 15, 2024).

Showers and thunderstorms will move into the western part of Tennessee later today. The weather system is expected to bring a threat of severe weather, high winds, and possible tornadoes to an area from Memphis east to near Nashville.

As the storms push east out of Nashville towards the Cumberland Plateau, it will bring a threat mainly of high winds and severe thunderstorms. Weather officials say a tornado threat will be low, if any, once the storms get on the plateau.

The timing of the storms arriving in Cumberland, Fentress, Morgan, Pickett, Overton, White, Putnam, Van Buren, and Bledsoe County is between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Central Friday morning.

Weather officials say there is still a lot of uncertainty with this weather event, especially with timing.
