SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED AFTER REPORTEDLY BEING IN CENTENNIAL PARK

A Crossville police officer saw a suspicious vehicle yesterday in the parking lot of Centennial Park. A check of the tag revealed it was registered to a sex offender classified as violent. The report states 28-year-old Willie Ashton Glen Dyal of eastern Cumberland County drove off but was stopped by authorities a short time later. Dyal was charged with violating the sex offender registry since he is banned from being in areas that children are present. Dyal was placed on the registry after his 2012 conviction for criminal attempt to commit aggravated sexual battery.
