SHERIFF’S DEPUTY REAR ENDED DURING INTERSTATE STOP

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy is injured after being hit by his own vehicle on I-24 in Clarksville.

The incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. at mile marker 16. The deputy was making a traffic stop when another vehicle hit his patrol car, which hit the person’s vehicle that was pulled over, which then hit the deputy, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sergeant went to the hospital after being knocked into traffic, the sheriff’s office reports. He has non-life threatening injuries. The motorist did not get injured.

The motorist that hit the patrol vehicle did go to  the hospital with unknown injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
