SHERIFF’S OFFICE WARNING CITIZENS OF FAKE NOTICE OF HEARING TRAFFIC VIOLATION
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens of a fraudulent “Notice of Hearing – Traffic Violation” being circulated.
Officers say red flags in this bogus notice include a generic judge name, the parking and toll violations are combined, and there is a QR code on it requesting payment.
Courts in Tennessee do not request payment by a QR code.
The sheriff’s office says do not scan the code on the notice, do not pay it, and do not provide any information.
If in doubt, contact the court directly using a verified phone number.
