SHOOTER ARRESTED IN FRIDAY MURDER IN ROANE COUNTY

Authorities have arrested the shooter in Friday’s River Road shooting on charges of first-degree murder.

On Friday, Roane County deputies received a report of an accidental shooting of someone breaking into a River Road home. Investigators and the office of 9th District Attorney General Russell Johnson responded. The shooter was identified as Jenny Michelle Parton, a resident of the home. Robert Rosado III, who also lived there, was found dead in the front yard. After the scene was processed, Parton was interviewed and later released.

Rosado’s body was taken to the Knox County Forensic Center for an autopsy. Preliminary results showed a close-proximity gunshot killed Rosado. The Roane County Medical Examiner listed the death as homicide. Further investigation has shown Parton intentionally shot and killed Rosado with a shotgun. The investigation also discovered Rosado had been a prior victim of domestic violence, but never reported it to law enforcement.

Parton was arrested at her home today for first-degree murder. Her bond is set at $500,000.
