SHOOTER AT ANTIOCH, TENNESSEE CHURCH KILLS 1 PERSON, WOUNDS 7

The suspect of a fatal shooting in a church in Antioch, Tennessee Sunday is in custody and being charged with murder. 25-year-old Emanuel Kidega Samson is accused in the shooting death of 39-year-old Melanie Crow Smith in the parking lot of Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch. The shooting took place at the dismissal of services Sunday morning at 11:15 AM. Police say Samson entered the sanctuary of the building through the front door. He came into the building with two pistols, both of which were recovered inside the church. He then allegedly fired multiple rounds inside the sanctuary wounding six people, before one of the congregation, 22-year-old Robert Engle, struggled with Samson to retrieve the gun. During the fight, the gun went off hitting Samson in the chest. Samson was taken into custody after being treated at a hospital and is being held without bond. Reports state that two of the victims were critically injured, while four others are said to be stable.
