SHOOTING AND MANHUNT IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY RESULTS IN THE ARREST OF RANDOLPH
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN– On Wednesday, June 15, Cumberland County deputies were called to Birchwood Drive off Stanley Street after it was reported a man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the arm. The victim was rushed by ambulance to Cumberland Medical Center. He was later taken to UT Medical Center, where he underwent surgery to repair his gunshot wounds. The victim, who has been identified as a 35-year-old male from Rutherford County, was shot three times in the arm.
Marvin Joe-Lee Randolph, 40, Woodland Dr., was taken into custody and is expected to face felony aggravated assault charges. Randolph was also identified as a man who entered the same residence back on June 7 and fled with keys to a Chevrolet Cruze, a small amount of cash, and a .22 caliber rifle. The rifle was recovered, and Randolph was taken into custody after being found hiding in a crawl space beneath the house. The Chevrolet Cruze was later recovered wrecked.
The shooting on Wednesday activated a large-scale manhunt with deputies visiting several residences in the county in search of the suspect. Investigators had reason to believe Randolph fled on foot to the area of Halstead Dr., just off Lantana Rd., where he disappeared into the night.
Randolph was found Thursday and transported to the Justice Center and charged with:
Failure to appear- bond: $6,000
Vandalism-bond: $10,000
Theft of property- bond: $10,000
Especially aggravated robbery- bond: $500,000
Aggravated assault- bond: $500,000
Especially aggravated burglary- bond: $500,000
Aggravated kidnapping-bond: $250,000
