The Harriman Police Department continues to investigate a fatal shooting that took place yesterday (Saturday, December 30, 2017). Officers were dispatched around 8 a.m. to a residence on the 200^th block of Harding Road off of Swan Pond Road. Upon arrival, police found several people at the residence with 31-year-old Jacob Christian Sizemore lying on the ground, deceased from a gunshot wound. Multiple people were detained for questioning with the assistance of the Roane County Sheriff’s Department. One of the persons detained was a Caucasian male who reportedly admitted to the shooting in an alleged act of self defense of others. The name of the shooter was not immediately released by authorities.
