105.7 News learned this afternoon that six individuals so far picked up papers expressing an interest in running for Cumberland County property assessor. The current property assessor, David Simcox, is not running for another term. Simcox has served in the position for the past 12 years. The ones that have picked up papers to run for the seat include Heath Scarbrough, Tom Howard, Janice Easterly, Anthony Frisa, Chad A. Garrett and Linda K. Miller. Election officials say all six are running as republicans. The deadline for each to get the papers back to the election commission to be qualified is by noon on December 12, 2019. The election will be held March 3, 2020.
