SIX-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY RESULTS IN ONLY ONE INJURY
A six-vehicle accident in Cumberland County yesterday involving nine people resulted in one injury. Troopers say all were traveling west at the 329 mile marker of Interstate 40 when a 2004 Chevy driven by 60-year-old Steve Bolin of Crossville lost control, left the road and struck a cable barrier. A 2006 Cadillac driven by 19-year-old Ivan Zayes of Kentucky swerved to avoid Bolin but hit a 2011 BMW operated by 20-year-old Kenneth Holbert of Fentress County and a 2013 Subaru driven by 53-year-old Kathleen Hale of Nashville. Troopers say a 2013 Ford F150 driven by 73-year-old Leonard Carden of Knoxville slowed down on approaching the scene and was rear-ended by a 2012 Chevy Spark operated by 33-year-old Edward Drury of Missouri. Traffic was at a standstill for a while as the scene was cleared. The accident report did not indicate which of the nine was injured.
