SLATTEN RECOVERS LOST MILLION DOLLAR LOTTERY TICKET IN A PARKING LOT

A White Countian was able to retrieve his million dollar winning lottery ticket after losing it in a business parking lot.

Nick Slatten bought the Tennessee Cash lottery ticket at a convenience store in Sparta last week. After checking the winning numbers the day after the drawing, Slatten discovered the ticket was worth $1,178,746.

Then Slatten temporarily lost the ticket.

He traced his stops he made in the day back to an auto parts store where he saw the ticket on the ground next to the driver’s side door to another vehicle parked there.

“It’s a million-dollar ticket, and someone stepped right over it,” Slatten said.

Slatten quickly recovered his ticket.

The Tennessee Lottery reminds players that tickets are bearer instruments, like cash. If a player loses his ticket, anyone can claim it if it is unsigned. The lottery recommends players to sign their ticket immediately after purchase to identify it as theirs and to help prevent someone else from cashing it, in the event that it is lost or stolen.
