SMALL AMOUNT OF METH AND LARGE AMOUNT OF PARAPHERNALIA LAND MAN IN JAIL

Early this morning, Cumberland County deputies saw a vehicle stopped in the middle of Delaware Drive in Lake Tansi. As they approached, the vehicle began moving forward and into the grass. Deputies made contact with the driver, 33-year-old James Timothy Russell of Crossville, who seemed extremely nervous. He denied having any illegal drugs in the vehicle. As Russell exited the vehicle, officers noticed in plain sight two used syringes in the driver’s seat. They again asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. This time he said yes, there was, and indicated its location.

A consent search was subsequently conducted, which turned up a small amount of meth, a set of digital scales, approximately 900 small zip-top baggies, six glass pot pipes and 41 clear-glass meth pipes.

Russell was arrested for manufacture, sale or delivery of meth and placed under $20,000 bond. He’s due in court April 22.
