SMALL PLANE CRASHES IN TO TENNESSEE RIVER NEAR SODDY-DAISY

A small, single-engine aircraft reportedly crashed just north of Soddy-Daisy Monday. The wreck was reported just before 2 p.m. after debris was found along the Tennessee River around Hobo Bluff. Search and rescue teams arrived by boat approximately one hour later and radioed that they could see the plane’s fuselage in the water. The identities and number of people on board wasn’t immediately clear. Officials indicated they were unable to identify signs of survivors. High wind and rough water forced crews out of the river as divers stood by to await better conditions.
