SMMS’S LADY PANTHERS HONORED AT COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING
The Stone Memorial Lady Panther Middle School basketball team was recognized for winning the state tournament. They beat Alcoa 53 to 38 in the championship game in Murfreesboro, TN. This achievement is even more meaningful as this is the first basketball state championship in Cumberland County history!
The team is coached by Ivy Mayberry and assistant coach Addy Wilson. The players are Taylor Amos (8th, Homestead), Jadisyn Ashburn (6th, Stone), Chloe Brundage (6th, Pineview), Lexi Clark (8th, Homestead), Claire Dukes (6th, Stone), Makenzie Kington (7th, Stone), Anslee May (6th, Homestead), Callyn Myers (7th, Stone), Shae Neal (6th, Crab Orchard), Kori Newcome (6th, Homestead), Kinley O’Neal (6th, Crab Orchard), Keira Peterson (7th, Homestead), Reagan Pugh (8th, Crab Orchard), Emma Richard (8th, Homestead), Mady Spriggs (8th, Stone), Khloe Stover (6th, Stone), Leighton Whiting (7th, Homestead), Baylor Wilson (6th, Stone), Ava Wyatt (7th, Homestead), and Bella Wyatt (8th, Homestead).
