STANDOFF ENDS PEACEFULLY IN KINGSTON WITH ARREST

A domestic call turned into a stand-off today in Kingston. According to Kingston Police Chief Jim Washum, a man barricaded himself in a mobile home following a disturbance around 3 a.m. this morning at Sunny Springs Mobile Home Park off of James Ferry Road. Washum said a female and a 10-year-old child were being held against their will. The two were eventually allowed to leave the home after several hours of negotiations with the assistance of the Roane County Sheriff’s Department. Sgt. Brian Luttrell with the Kingston Police Department was injured at the scene after he slipped and fell on the porch on ice after attempting to place handcuffs on the suspect when he finally came out and surrendered. Chief Washum said Sgt. Luttrell will be ok but was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation. The suspect was taken to the Roane County Jail where he is facing several charges. His identity was not immediately released.
