The Tennessee State Comptroller says that all 95 counties in the state completed their budgets by the August 31^st deadline. Cumberland and Roane Counties had both of their budgets prepared and passed before the end of July. In 2015, the Tennessee General Assembly approved a measure forcing counties to complete their budgets by August 31. Before that time, it was not unusual for some Tennessee counties to operate without a current budget into October.
