STEPHENS REPORTEDLY STEALS VEHICLE THEN $3,500 MERCHANDISE FROM RURAL KING IN SAME DAY IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
Cumberland County deputies responded yesterday to a home on the 9,000 block of Walla Walla Trace in Lake Tansi for a stolen vehicle.
A man told officers he was playing cards with two other gentlemen when one got upset. The report states that 49-year-old Sean Paul Stephens got up and left. Shortly after, Stephens allegedly took a 2020 black GMC Sierra in the driveway.
The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in the cup holder.
A warrant was issued for Stephens for theft of property.
It didn’t take law enforcement long to find Stephens.
Officers responded to Rural King yesterday and learned Stephens allegedly took over $3,500 in merchandise without paying.
The arrest report states Stephens had $2,300 in cash on him.
Stephens was served the warrant for theft of property, stemming from taking the vehicle.
He was arrested for theft of property from Rural King.
