Cumberland County deputies went to the area of near the 10,000 block of Highway 70 East late Friday for a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, law enforcement confirmed the 1991 Jeep Cherokee was taken in Cherokee, North Carolina. A male on scene said he received the automobile from a subject out of Georgia off of a social media marketplace and traded his 4×4 truck for the Jeep. The unsuspecting victim did not learn of the stolen status until he attempted to register it at the clerk’s office Friday. A suspect was named in the incident.
