STOLEN TRUCK RESULTS IN POLICE CHASE ON LANTANA ROAD

Crossville police received information Saturday a Chevy pickup truck was stolen from a gas station on Elmore Road. Officers saw the vehicle heading south on Main Street and attempted to stop the driver, 24-year-old Madisyn Sims of Cookeville. A pursuit started going onto Lantana Road reaching speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. Sims turned onto Morning Star Drive and stopped at the dead end. She reportedly put the truck in reverse and hit a police cruiser bringing the chase to an end. A check revealed she was wanted in Putnam County for theft of property. She was taken into custody.
