STONEHAUS WINERY SELLS CROSSVILLE PROPERTY TO WEIGEL’S, CLOSES RETAIL DEC. 31

The Crossville Chronicle reports that Stonehaus Winery owner Bob Ramsey announced the completion of the sale of its Crossville property, with retail operations set to close on December 31, 2025. The family will relocate winemaking and wholesale operations to a new facility in Smithville, Tennessee, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Ramsey expressed gratitude to loyal employees and customers, assuring that Stonehaus wines will remain available at wine and grocery stores across Tennessee after the closure. Founded in 1990 by Ramsey and the late Fay Wheeler—who together established Tennessee’s first winery, Highland Manor, in 1980—Stonehaus has operated in Crossville for 35 years.
Other on-site businesses, including Brambleberry Cafe and Antiques and The Briar Patch, must vacate within 90 days. The buyer, Weigel’s, plans to construct a 6,605-square-foot gas station with 10 pumps, 50 parking spaces, and a car wash at the Genesis Road location across from a Pilot station, following site plan approval by the Crossville Planning Commission in September.
Weigel’s also acquired the nearby Chestnut Hill Winery property on Peavine Road earlier this year.
