Around 6 pm Wednesday evening area law enforcement and emergency medical responders were called to the area of the old Capri Motel in Crossville.  Authorities found a man with a gunshot wound to the stomach.  The man was promptly air lifted to an area trauma center.

Officers began searching for a possible suspect wearing blue jeans and a light colored shirt.  The search began in an area between Burnett Street and Webb Avenue.  After a short period, that area was expanded to Genisis Road and then on toward Woodmere Mall.

After several hours, the search was called off when sources indicated that the suspect may have fled town.
