SUSPECT SURRENDERS TO ROCKWOOD POLICE AFTER ALTERCATION

Rockwood police responded yesterday to a home on the 400 block of South Kingston Avenue for a disturbance.

The arrest report states a female victim told officers she was assaulted by 27-year-old Raymond R. Vandal III.

When police arrived, Vandal barricaded himself in the attic, threatening to set fire to the home.

Law enforcement was told there were drugs in the residence.

Officers were able to talk with him and after making contact, noticed he had a needle sticking out of his arm and an air pistol in his hand.

Vandal took the needle out of his arm, threw the pistol out of the attic, and surrendered to the officers.

As he was inside the patrol car, the report states he began to beat his head on the divider glass. They had to take him out and calm him down before putting Vandal back in the patrol car to take him to jail.

Vandal was arrested on charges including domestic assault.
