TAKE PRECAUTIONS WHEN OUTSIDE AS HOT TEMPERATURES WILL PREVAIL

Very hot temperatures will be in store for the entire listening area today (4th of July). The area will see highs in the low to mid 90s, and maximum afternoon heat-index values are forecast to be between 100 and 104 degrees. Hot-weather safety will be very important, and you should take extra precautions if you plan to work or spend time outside. When possible, schedule strenuous activities for the early-morning hours. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. Take frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Doing these things will help limit the possibility of heat-related illness.

(High temperatures/heat index) forecast for cities in the area for 4th of July, 2018:

Byrdstown – 92/98

Cookeville – 92/98
