Human trafficking continues to be a horrific crime that takes place every day in Tennessee and the TBI has started a campaign to hopefully bring the issue in front of the people. According to statistics, a child is bought or sold for sex every two minutes and research shows that over 27 million people are enslaved by criminals today. Monday, the TBI launched the “It Has to Stop” campaign which is centered around billboard advertising. The cost of the billboards is being paid for by a $60,000 grant from the State of Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs.
