The TBI released more information today regarding the death of a man after his arrest in Roane County this week. Harriman police took 32-year-old Cameron Dwight Merrell of Calhoun, Tennessee (McMinn County) into custody this past Monday (August 24, 2020) and transported him to the Roane County jail. Upon arrival, Merrell became unresponsive and was immediately taken to Roane Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  His body was sent to the medical examiner’s office to determine an exact cause of death. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
