(UPDATE) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation says work to install concrete culverts on Dunbar Road between War Eagle Drive and Chacoto Drive should be completed sometime tomorrow (Wednesday, July 21, 2021).

The project was initially scheduled to be done yesterday (Monday, July 19, 2021) but heavy rainfall over this past weekend delayed it.

Here is a suggested detour:

Drivers can use Highway 282 off of Highway 127 South to get to areas of Lake Tansi south of the road work. To reach destinations north of War Eagle Drive, use Dunbar Road.

“As of now (3:30 p.m. central, July 20, 2021), TDOT contract crews are still scheduled to reopen Dunbar Road between Chacoto Drive and War Eagle Drive on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. The exact time has yet to be determined.

Also of note, work is still scheduled to install the second small drainage structure this weekend from Friday evening (July 23, 2021) starting at 9:00 p.m. until Monday morning (July 26, 2021) at 6 a.m. on Dunbar Road in the same area. TDOT says detour routes will be posted,” said Rae Anne Bradley, TDOT Community Relations Officer.
