TEEN ARRESTED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY ON RECKLESS DRIVING AND UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION CHARGES
On May 3, 2026, Sergeant Ryan Ashburn of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Lantana Road and Pigeon Ridge Road in Crossville, Tennessee. The incident began when Sgt. Ashburn observed a blue Chevrolet pickup truck traveling inbound at a high rate of speed and passing two other vehicles using the center turning lane. After initiating a pursuit with lights and sirens, the officer successfully stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as 18-year-old Issaiah Rivera of Jamestown, TN.
Upon making contact, Mr. Rivera was unable to provide a justification for his driving behavior and was subsequently informed he was being placed under arrest for reckless driving. Although the suspect was initially hesitant to exit the vehicle, he was eventually taken into custody. A subsequent inventory of the truck revealed multiple containers of alcohol and vape devices. Consequently, Mr. Rivera was transported to the Cumberland County jail and charged with Reckless Driving, Underage Possession of Alcohol, and Underage Possession of Tobacco or Vapor Devices. His court date is set for June 8, 2026.
