TEEN SUSPECT IN ROANE COUNTY MURDER ARRESTED AFTER HIGH-SPEED POLICE CHASE
A 17-year-old murder suspect is facing a wave of new charges following a high-speed police pursuit through Knox County on Saturday night. Riley Pawlick, who was on supervised release for a second-degree murder charge tied to the fatal August 2025 shooting of 18-year-old Holden Howse, was pulled over on I-40 for driving 90 mph in a black Camaro.
During the traffic stop, a state trooper noted that Pawlick smelled of marijuana and admitted to smoking earlier that day; however, when asked to step out of the vehicle for a consented search, Pawlick suddenly sped away. The ensuing pursuit ended after Pawlick exited at West Hills, crashed into another vehicle on the off-ramp, and fled the scene before being tracked down and detained by deputies at a nearby apartment complex.
Now held at the juvenile service center, Pawlick faces new felony charges of evading arrest and reckless endangerment, adding to his legal troubles as a judge recently ruled he will already be tried as an adult for the upcoming murder trial.
