TENNCARE FRAUD BEING INVESTIGATED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
A Crossville business is under investigation for possible TennCare fraud.
A local man went to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning and reported he had contracted with Crystal Clear Hearing and Audiology, on July 18, 2018, for the purchase of hearing aids and equipment insurance. He said his TennCare was charged $2,000 but he never received the hearing aids.
Todd C. Allen, owner of Crystal Clear, subsequently sold the business to David Simpson, of Audibel.
The complainant contacted Simpson about his undelivered hearing aids. Simpson said they were given hearing aids for the man, but they were not of the quality his insurance had paid for.
Simpson advised the man to file a report with the sheriff’s department and with TennCare for fraud.
According to the incident report, the complainant was unsuccessful in his attempts to contact TennCare.
The man told deputies he was not personally out any money, but TennCare had been billed $2,000.
