TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL TO HOLD SOBRIETY CHECKPOINTS IN AREA
The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct sobriety checkpoints Friday, December 13, 2019. Troopers will be set up in the following areas:
Cumberland County – Highway 70 at Browntown Road
Morgan County – Highway 62 at Highway 298
White County – State Route 111 at Walker Cove Road
The checkpoints are advertised because the supreme court ruled the checkpoints are constitutional, but must be publicized ahead of time. If not, it can be considered a detention without reasonable suspicion, and that violates Fourth Amendment rights.
