TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL/TDOT PAIR FOR OPERATION S.O.S.
Last week, the Tennessee Highway Patrol followed behind TDOT Help Trucks in an event labeled Operation S.O.S., or Safety on the Smart ways. The goal was to educate and inform motorists on the importance of moving over to give space for all who work on and along the highways. The move-over law requires drivers to move over or slow down for emergency and service workers who are working along the highway. Operation S.O.S. resulted in the THP issuing 41 move-over citations, one texting and driving citation and one DUI arrest.
