TEXAS MAN CHARGED IN DEATH OF WOMAN FOUND IN ROANE COUNTY
Stevie Bernard Williams of Rockwall, Texas was recently charged in connection to the death of a woman found on the shoulder of Interstate 40 in Roane County last year around October.
According to the affidavit, Patillo had gotten a ride from Williams in Arkansas last year. Williams told authorities that he was traveling with Patillo and claimed she jumped from the passenger seat of his truck which would be going at about 68 mph.
The affidavit alleges that Williams didn’t contact emergency services and kept going toward his destination in New Jersey.
The victim, Lateshia Patillo, was found unresponsive on the eastbound shoulder of Interstate 40 near Rockwood last year. She was taken to the UT Medical Center but unfortunately passed away from her injuries. An autopsy discovered multiple points of blunt force trauma as the likely reason for her passing.
Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Lateshia Patillo was born in November 1983. According to her obituary, she worked as a dispatcher for Sysco and Estes Trucking Company for many years, as well as Martindale law firm, and had applied to be a police officer in Little Rock.
