The Tennessee Highway Patrol announced today the seventh annual “I-40 Challenge” traffic safety initiative. It will consist of an increased presence from the highway patrol as well as local agencies along I-40. The Tennessee Highway Patrol will assign troopers every 20 miles on Interstate 40 for 12-hour shifts on the busiest travel days of this weekend: Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
