THP MAJOR AND WIFE CHARGED IN NEIGHBORHOOD DISTURBANCE IN ALTAMONT

A Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper and his wife are facing charges after an incident in Altamont Sunday. Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum says that deputies were called to the couple’s home on State Route 108 to investigate a disturbance between 47-year-old Major Stacey Williams and neighbors. Not much is being revealed about the incident, however the sheriff did say that officers were forced to deploy a taser on Williams during the altercation. Williams was charged with aggravated assault and he and his wife were charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest.
