Today is the first day that those wanting to run in the August 2^nd State Primary and County General Election may begin picking up qualifying petitions. This is particularly for those planning on running in Roane County, as they do not have a County Primary Election in May. Those running in the Cumberland County May Primary still have time to pick-up their papers. The deadline for turning those in is Thursday, Feb. 15 at 12 Noon. For those wanting to run in the August State Primary and County General Elections, the deadline for turning in qualifying papers is Thursday, April 5 at 12 Noon.
