TODDLER STARVATION TRIAL IN ROANE COUNTY PUSHED BACK AGAIN

A heart-breaking story continues to be dragged out in Roane County. The trial of the man accused of starving his 2-year-old son has been postponed yet again. Mathew Dotson and his wife Amanda are charged with the murder of their son Clifford in May of 2012. Clifford was said to have weighed only 12 pounds when his parents brought him in to the emergency room. The child was so small he was brought in in a car seat. 9th Judicial District Criminal Court Judge Jeffrey Wicks recused himself from the case originally citing the fact that he oversaw the termination of parental rights in the hearing for Dotson’s surviving son. Continuances for the trial have been granted in the past and the date of the trial has again been pushed back.
