A vehicle accident around sunrise this morning on I-40 in Roane County backed up eastbound traffic for nearly two hours. Troopers state a 2019 Volvo tractor-trailer operated by 65-year-old John Edward Crocker of Texas was traveling at the 352-mile marker when he left the roadway and hit a cable barrier. Crocker was restrained and not hurt. He was cited for failure to maintain his lane of travel and operating a commercial vehicle while impaired by an illness.
