A tractor-trailer accident in eastern Cumberland County yesterday resulted in traffic nightmares for numerous motorists. Trooper Nicholas Neal says a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer operated by 30-year-old Gurtej Singh from Bakersfield, California was traveling west on I-40 at the 334 mile marker when he lost control, flipped over on the driver’s side, slid into cable barriers and came to rest blocking both westbound lanes. The driver was not hurt. That resulted in vehicle backups on I-40 and Highway 70 between Westel and Crab Orchard for hours. The scene was cleared last night after being an issue for over 8 hours.
