TRACTOR-TRAILER CRASH ON I-40 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY SENDS DRIVER TO TRAUMA CENTER
A tractor-trailer accident at the 331 mile marker of I-40 in Cumberland County yesterday resulted in injuries to the driver. Trooper Chris Bennett says a 2018 International operated by 62-year-old Ralph Jeffery Story of Hermitage was pulling two FedEx trailers when it ran off the road and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and overturned on its side. Story, who was restrained, was transported by ambulance to a landing zone in Crab Orchard and flown by helicopter to U.T. Medical Center for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
