TRACTOR-TRAILER CRASH ON I-40 WESTBOUND IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY LOCKS UP TRAFFIC
On Saturday, a three-vehicle accident on I-40 in Cumberland County locked up westbound traffic for a while.
The report released today by the Tennessee Highway Patrol states a 2023 Ford Bronco driven by 63-year-old Odom Douglas Reed of Montana, a 2022 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by 58-year-old Juan Ricardo Gomez Morales of Mexico City, and a 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 44-year-old Liban Mohamud of Minnesota were all heading west at the 330-mile marker.
Troopers say a large tree suddenly fell, blocking both westbound lanes.
Reed and Morales were slowing down to stop when Mohamud rear-ended Morales.
Mohamud was the only injury indicated by troopers in the report.
The accident locked up westbound travel for a while.
