Troopers and medics recently responded to a single-vehicle accident on I-40 in Cumberland County.

The report states a 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer operated by 38-year-old Derek Johnson of Alabama lost control and turned over on the ramp for the 320-mile marker Genesis Road exit.

Johnson told officers he fell asleep on his way to the Pilot Travel Center to park the tractor-trailer and go to bed.

Johnson sustained injuries in the crash.
