TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUG CHARGE ON HIGHWAY 70 WEST
Saturday morning, during a traffic stop along Highway 70 West, Cumberland County deputies did a consent search of the vehicle. The driver turned over two used syringes he claimed to have used to shoot meth on Thursday. Suspect Mechelle Louise Pyles, age 49, of Crossville, said she had in her purse some pills that weren’t hers and for which she didn’t have a prescription. The ten pills were identified as Clonidine Hydrochloride 0.1 mg. Pyles was arrested and charged with possession of a legend drug; bond was set at $1,000. She’s due to appear in court February 25.
