TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN FELONY WEAPONS CHARGES FOR CROSSVILLE MAN
While patrolling in the Mayland area late Tuesday night, Cumberland County deputies came upon an older pickup truck that neither stopped at a stop sign nor used its turn signal. The deputy initiated a traffic stop along U.S. Highway 70 North.
Dispatch determined 39-year-old Theodore Charles Hafner’s license was suspended and he had a felony record.
Hafner told deputies he had a gun in the center console. The firearm turned out to be stolen from Rockwood.
Hafner was placed under arrest and charged with driving on a revoked or suspended license, theft of property and felony unlawful possession of a weapon. He was placed under $16,000 bond and has a March 11 court date.
The Rockwood Police Department was notified and they indicated they would recover the firearm.
