TRAFFIC STOP TURNS INTO HIGH SPEED PURSUIT IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A Loudon County man is facing a host of charges in Cumberland County following a high-speed pursuit. A deputy stopped a vehicle driven by 43-year-old David Lee Queener of Lenoir City on Plateau Road next to I-40 and reportedly smelled alcohol coming from Queener. The officer asked him to step out of the vehicle and that is when Queener took off at a high rate of speed. The chase went to Highway 70 North at speeds of 85 miles per hour and ended on East Mayland Road. After a short altercation following a taser being ineffective on Queener, he was arrested for DUI, evading arrest, resisting arrest and simple possession of drugs.
