A review hearing is scheduled on the Cumberland County General Sessions Court criminal docket for August 27, 2026, regarding a local man facing charges of allegedly assaulting a first responder with a $3,500 bond.

The case involves Trenton D. Printup, who is represented by the Public Defender’s office. Printup faces a charge of Assault on a First Responder, stemming from an incident on December 19, 2025.

According to the affidavit of complaint filed by Officer Dakota Gunnels of the Crossville Police Department, city units were dispatched to an Easy Street residence at approximately 8:40 p.m. for a welfare check on Printup.

Officers reported that Printup became upset, refused to answer questions, and officers began to leave the residence. Printup allegedly emerged from the kitchen into the living room holding a knife, though he threw it down after it was observed. When asked about the knife by Lt. Jared South, Printup advanced toward the lieutenant and refused commands to stop. Despite warnings that he would be tased, Printup reportedly shoved an officer in the upper body.

The upcoming court date on August 27th is set for a review of the case.
